Young Singers
This year we are holding a massed Schools Cantata as our choral event so the solo and group singers are to join other events. Junior Singers will be combining with Young Performers on Friday and Senior Singers will join the Senior Dancers on Thursday to give two special evenings of celebration of their talents.
Juniors (5- 11 years - Primary)
Friday March 14th 7 pm
Kenton Theatre
Seniors (11-18 years - Secondary)
Thursday March 13th 7 pm
Kenton Theatre
Entry guidelines:
- Singers should prepare one song (no medleys) of no more than 4 minutes duration.
- All singers will be required to perform without the aid of a microphone and therefore should ideally be accompanied by a pianist or similar acoustic accompanist whose details must be included on the application form. However, this year the organisers will allow singers to use a backing track if necessary. Singers (both junior and senior) who wish to use a microphone should enter Young Performers.
- There will be the opportunity to sing as a soloist or in duets and groups – duets and groups should be entered in the event appropriate for the oldest member.
- Singers may enter more than one category. However, if either evening is oversubscribed we may have to limit the total number of performances..
CLOSING DATE 15th FEBRUARY 2008
Rehearsals: All singers will be contacted nearer the event to arrange a rehearsal time.
