We are thrilled to launch the HYF film competition for all you aspiring film makers. We are inviting you to make a Film or Animation (any length you like up to a max of 3 minutes ) that reflects the theme 'My Footprint...Our World '. The films will be judged by professionals working in the film industry including Catherine Morshead, director of Rapunzel (BBC1), Ashes to Ashes (BBC1) and Shameless.
Theme: 'My Footprint......Our World'.
Categories: There will be 2 categories
Junior 7 - 11 years (primary)
Senior 11 -18 years (secondary)

Guidelines
- Your film/animation can be up to 3 minutes long, including titles and credits
- You may submit more than one film
- You can enter individually or as a team, but contributors must be the sole author(s) of the entry
- You send us a DVD with the film on it. We upload it onto youtube.
- For advice on how to prepare your film, go to the Help Page on www.youtube.co.uk
- The film/ animation should be based on the Theme: My Footprint...Our World. You can interpret this anyway you wish.
- All entrants must be between 7 and 18 years old.
- Parent’s/guardian’s signatures are required for anyone under 18 who appears in the film.
- All films accepted will be posted on http://www.youtube.com/HenleyYouthFestival and may be posted on the HYF website www.hyf.org.uk and shown at HYF events.
- No unauthorized use of copyrighted material.
- The film/animation must not contain anything which, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the HYF Organisers, is sexually explicit, obscene, disparaging, libelous, unlawful, inappropriate or objectionable. eg the film would get a U rating if shown in the cinema. HYF Organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry at their own discretion.
Entry Process
- If you make a team entry, you will be entered in the category for the oldest team member
- Print out and complete both the Film Competition Entry Form and the Film Competition Consent Form . Copies of the forms will also be available at Henley Library,Sonning Common Library and school offices from January 2008.
- Feeling rushed and out of time, then if it helps we can extend the
closing date for entries to the end of half term (Sunday 24th Feb).
But please make sure the film is transferred onto a DVD and sent to HYF Film Competition, 9 Cromwell Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxon
RG9 1JH by then. Please label your DVD with the title of the piece
and your name and contact information.
- You may submit more than one film.
- The film/animation must be made in a form acceptable to YouTube. For advice on how to prepare your film, go to the Help Page on www.youtube.co.uk
- In the event that more than one person or group has participated in the production of a film submitted for entry, the film will be deemed entered by the person or group whose name is submitted through the registration process. If the film is selected as the winner in its category, the prize will be awarded to that individual or group only. If the same film is submitted by more than one entrant, the first entrant to have completed the registration process and submitted the film will be deemed the entrant of that film.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded for the best film or animation in each age category. Prize giving will take place on Friday 29 February 2008 at 4.00pm in the Education Centre, River and Rowing Museum
Photographs: A photographer will be present at most events during the Festival Week and may be present at the prize ceremony.
- Photographs will be available to purchase on a restricted website shortly after the event. To purchase photos, please email hyfphotolink@btconnect.com.
- Photos and video may be used in promotional material and on this website. Should you have any objection to your child’s photo or video of your child being used, please notify us by email to emma.lt@btinternet.com.
